Flashback Friday - Tour De Scottsdale - October 2009
Flashback Friday...Just came across this old photo from October 2009.
Family friends Sergei Gretchyn and Yuriy Metlushenko in black riding for VeloVie Bicycles visiting Arizona from Italy for Tour De Scottsdale. Sergei ended up solo-ing to victory to be DQ'd at the end for crossing a double-yellow line. This picture has a lot of meaning for us for so many reasons.
- Coincidentally our current team member Brian Forbes ended up winning the event.
- Additionally, VeloVie and State Bicycle Co. are now part of the same organization. This photo pre-dates State Bicycle Co. by about 1 month, when we were still planning on what our company would look like.
- Last but not least, that happens to be our good friend and current US National Champ in the front Eric Marcotte in the red up front!
We are proud to announce that Sergei and Yuriy will be joining Michael Dziedzic and Myles Morales for Red Hook Crit Barcelona (Aug. 30) and Milan (Oct. 11) ! Wish us luck!
